Welcome

Dirtmax stared at a braai next to the swimming pool between two friends Andreas Botha (Gospel singer) and Philip Basson. They decided to build a 10km track on the farm Shiloh Shalom on the banks of the Vaal river 1.1km out of Parys on the Potchefstroom-Fochville road for motorbikes or quads, the people of the environment would not allowed the noise, so the next option was a mountain bike track. Months of hard work was put in to remove old trees out the river with tractors and cables and on some parts of the track. Bridges were build to cross the river, from there the name Parys Island.... some part of the name were not complete to make it powerful, then Philip thought about Maximum dirt, because of the mud. From there the name was created as Parys Island Dirtmax. The first race were held on 7 March 2009 with 28 riders, in a lap formation10km (1lap) 30km(3laps) 60km(6laps). In January 2010 the river was in flooded so the island could not be reached, then the hard work started again, Philip had to lay out new tracks over different farm owners ground for the 30km and 60km. The track is awesome single track, jeep track, technical parts and beautiful scenery. The reason for the Series: The top 10 participants in each age category receive a point form 1-10 and are held through the year that participants qualify for a trophy in December.
